Elements Consulting specialise in the strategic use
of work-based behaviour profiling to identify individual personality styles.
Personality styles are the language of observable behaviour.
All personalities are a combination of the four core styles - D.I.S.C.
How a person solves problems and responds to challenges How a person attempts
to influence or persuade others The pace at which
a person responds to change How a person responds
to rules and regulations
Why
are Personality Styles important?
Personality profiling facilitates a respectful understanding of communication
preferences and expectations. It is the ultimate self awareness tool that
provides individuals with a detailed analysis of their personal behavioural
style, providing a valuable and practical guide to make appropriate behaviour
modifications within any environment or personal interaction. Having an understanding
of the D.I.S.C. system gives individuals knowledge to enable them to achieve
an effective standard of inter-personal skills and personal success.
What
you should know about D.I.S.C. Profiling
The profile is not a test... you cannot pass or fail. There are no 'good'
or 'bad' personality styles. Each possesses strengths and limitations. Styles are identified
only by the individual's own perception in a designated environment (e.g. occupational
environment). The D.I.S.C. profile
only measures normal behaviour and personality preferences. The D.I.S.C. profile
is a time-sensitive tool and should take approximately 7 minutes to complete. Decisions to recruit
or promote individuals should not be based on the outcome of the profile
alone.
The
Science behind D.I.S.C. Profiling
The
D.I.S.C. system of assessing personality characteristics is based upon the
work of Dr.William Marston, one of the foremost psychologists of the twentieth
century.
Dr.Marston
extensively studied the characteristics, patterns and responses of thousands
of individuals, and wrote 'The Emotions of Normal People' as a result of
his efforts. Based upon his incredible insights into the world of characterising
individual responses to their environment, Dr.Marston was able to develop
a tool which was capable of measuring human response to various internal
stimuli - the Polygraph Machine.
The
D.I.S.C. software, from which personality reports are generated, represents
the cutting edge in the interpretation of individual responses.
It provides the greatest depth of analysis of individual responses to the
D.I.S.C. profile instrument, leading to the most accurate, in-depth conclusions
available. However, it is important to understand that profiles are based
upon the responses entered by the subject, and are designed to provide accurate
and authoritative information in regard to the subject matter. It is distributed
on the understanding that Elements Consulting is not engaged in rendering
professional psychological services. If expert assistance is required, the
advice of a professional should be sought.
